Default B18C in an EK......more than before

Again please don’t get pissed that i put this in TECH but I always post in here and you guys are the ones that need to see this… This was a post in EG+ Civic/Del Sol awhile back….. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=320742 Anyway there was a little debate about a basically stock GSR motor in an EK running 13.29@100 like my friend Albert did… Anyways I finally got the video from it.. This was awhile back at the Woodburn Dragstrip and I wasn’t there to tape so we had our retarded friend do it. Please try to not throw up watchin this because he can’t tape worth ****.. The quality also isn’t as good as normal because I had to record this to mini-DV off of VHS then firewire it into my comp.. I just put this together really quick so it’s nothing special…. The cars on this video are mainly my friends at http://www.groundzeromotorsports.com Their race car is driven by my friend Scott (streetracer) and has a best of an 11.46@117.... It is the one with the really weird yellow and blue paint job… The main reason I put this up is to show you guys that didn’t believe us that my friend Albert (jdmEKhb) with the GSR motor ran 13.29… It wasn’t a miss type of 14.29!!! Anyways the black turbo EK is the one that I’m always talking about… It’s just a stock sleeved GSR with pistons and rods boosting 13psi, it’s best now is an 11.9@119 but it had problems kicking out of boost and with the B16 tranny and there wasn’t enough load to get full boost until the end of 4th gear.. David’s Integra has a CRVTEC in it and has a best of an 12.93@107 all motor… Chan with the CRVTEC EK clutch welded itself to the PP so he didn’t get to run.. His best is still a 12.62@107... Brian had the red EG/GSR that had a best of 12.7, it got stolen about a month ago… That’s about it… Anyways check out Albert’s timeslip… That’s pretty good for a GSR motor with Skunk intake manifold, CTR intake cam, intake, header, 2000 Si tranny, ACT Maxx Xtreme clutch with 4 puck disk, and a Clutchmaster flywheel… Peace.

This is the link to the video.... If you want to save just right click and save target as on Honda-Tech video.mpg http://engr.oregonstate.edu/~uyemuraa/

Wouldn't a 1.8x 60ft mean he jumped the light?

If not, good job!

so you were saying that a JDM type R motor doesn't say B18c? Where did you learn that one? No one is perfect. Both of us learned something extremely easy to comprehend on this board. You learn something new everyday, right?

No, unfortunately I haven't had the time to go to the track with my car. I just put my engine in 2 weeks ago, and it's been raining pretty good since. Anyways, I never really thought it would be important to hang out at the track and see how things work.

I'm not talking **** to you, but I would never have known that a GSR motor with those kind of mods could hit that kind of time. You did an excellent job. We'll just have to see how good I do when I take my EK and jdm itr motor to the track for the first time. When it opens up...

I thought a jdm type r motor is a b18cR but you said that it is stamped with b18c, thats makes no sense at all, could you please explain your thoughts to me?

I just explained my thoughts to you in the other thread where you said basically the same ****.

JDM Type R = "B18c"
JDM GSR = "b18c"

USDM Type R = "b18c5"
USDM GSR = "b18c1"

Do you want me to go on? Or have you NEVER seen a JDM motor before?

people just call it the b18cR to differentiate the JDM ITR motor from the JDM GSR motor since both their engine codes are "b18c" ...but b18cr is not the real engine code for the JDM ITR motor..its just b18c

Take a look:

That is a B18c Type R. NOT a b18c5!

Sorry to hijack this thread.

Yea, could you go on a little more im still sorta confused bout all this usdm gsr/itr, jdm itr/gsr stuff, cause i thought a b18c5 is a type r motor but a b18c isnt a type r motor?
