I currently own a 1995 Civic LX automatic, it was my first car from back in the day. I've learned a lot off of it and take interest in the whole modding and turbo set up of these things. I feel more inclined to have a 5 speed civic to do a build. Do you guys think installing a 5 speed into the car would be an idea worth considering or should I go look for an old manual EX? I'm just throwing some thoughts out there.

Your best bet if you have to stick with this chassis would be to drop in a B or H series with a manual tranny and do the conversion. Tons of people have done this successfully, you should have no problem finding info online and they drop right in.

However, I would ask you to be aware that these swaps usually end up with several loose ends, little things here and there that don’t work properly (like clutch interlocks) so it may not be for you. It will be alot of work, and may never function as seamlessly as OEM unless you dedicate a lot of time to the details.

If this is your only vehicle, I would keep it as a daily and pick up a manual chassis to use for your project.
