Default Engine too cold

I have an '05 hybrid and live in northern Canada so getting the engine to temp is important. I noticed it was taking 20 KM (13 Miles) for the engine to reach temperature. So I replaced the thermostat, but this didn't solve the problem. So I put in a higher temp thermostat (192 F) but this didn't solve the problem. So I change the CTS, no change. So I blocked the Rad with cardboard and it comes up to temp in about 5 KM (3 miles) but it is giving me code P0128. Not sure what to do next?

13 miles doesn't seem that far, if you're driving the car in a scenario where it was resting in a below-freezing environment.

you two really dont think 13 miles is far?
try running that and see if you start to get warm the car is no different

my car gets warm after about 4 or 6 minutes of driving in -10 ish weather this last week or so here in lincoln ne
thats how it should be in the winter it gets warm after about a mile just 1 not 13 thou
in canada it gets even colder, the cardboard trick is almost a must down there

It was -12 on the way to work this morning, and my car did not quite make it to operating temperature until I got to the frontage road for work... 12 miles from my home. Its really going to depend on the air temperature, humidity, and speeds driven; when you're considering how quickly an engine will heat up.

yea your right
and also how long you let your car warm up before you start your drive
great roll of thumb there is to not drive untill the heater starts throwing out warm air
thats when youll know that your motor is ready to start the day
