Default 98 Prelude turbo installation question

Hi

I am trying to install a turbo but it hits the engine mount bracket. Can i cut from the bracket to gain the needed clearance? I know that i have to replace the radiator with smaller one but any ideas on the bracket? I am attaching a photo.

just run better mounts and you dont need the front mount at all. I use hasports, no front mount, and have absolutely no engine movement at all. certain manifolds put the turbo/mani/wg dump in a way that you just cant use a front mount. I run an ESP traction bar and couldnt get their front torque mount in there either. at the end of the day, if you have stiff mounts, it wont be a problem. my setup:

Hasport make mounts for 5the Gen preludes? I can't seem to find any online. There are mounts from innovative but I don't know if they are good.

Thats a good idea 👍. I think I will first consider buying rear and side 75a mounts and when I plan to go higher boost I will buy the traction bar.

This post made me question it and I went outside to check haha. I actually do have innovative mounts...got mixed up between the prelude and my civic. The innovative mounts are very nice, ive had them in the car for 8 years with no issues at all. be aware that stiff mounts will send vibration into the car though. Doesnt really bother me.

If youre looking into the ESP traction bar and front mount, make sure you can get that torque mount in there because i could not. Its hard to tell by your pic how low your compressor cover is sitting. If its right in the way, you may not be able to get it in there either. I only run the bar itself to make room for my downpipe and wastegate dump.

Thanks buddy. I will order a set of new mounts. I think I will go for 75a. It is not my daily ride so no problem with vibrations lol.

No problem, i think you'll like the mounts a lot. They're not very pricey either from what i remember.
