Default Type R 5 Lug conversion Ej1

Hello HT im considering on doing a 5 lug conversion on my 95 ej1. Only reason why I am planning to do it is because i was given some 15" gunmetal type r wheels for free so I notice to buy the conversion wasnt to out of my budget. Well my question is since I have abs on my coupe and want to do a 5 lug conversion is there anyway I can retaine my abs with this new setup? Thank you for your time.

I believe most Type Rs came with ABS.

I'm not sure if the Type R ABS wheel sensors are different than the '95s. But I'd run the Type R sensors to match with the Axle.

But most 5 lug ive seen have all the orange connectors cut, so im really interested in seeing if i can just take the ones off my 4 lug and just put them on my 5 lug and if the sensor will still pick up the reading from the abs rings. Does anyone have any experience and success in doing this?

Haha chill... Not for nothing but I like to keep all of my car functionality as I can. These cars little by little are getting harder to find with all oem options so being able to keep my abs and having it working 100% would be my goal.

de-pin and re-pin with the correct connector.

But the 5 lug doesn't come with any pins since they are all cut, do you mean I should cut the pins off my 4 lug and solder them with the 5 lug sensors? Has anyone ever come across this?

I don't see how it wouldn't work.. I say give it a shot and let us know how it goes, if it doesn't work to you at least you'll have a 5 lug ej1. Probably sell to some fanboy for a decent amount haha

If you don't have the setup in front of you to compare to your current setup its pointless because you need to know where it goes and drill out whats needed.

Now i know that the JDM DC2 5 lug came with the 36mm hub due to the 16" wheels, and EK9 and USDM DC2R came with the 32mm hub and both were equipped with 15" wheels. Sorry if its a stupid question just cant find an answer anywhere online but, can the 15" type r wheels fit on a 36mm hub?

The axle splines through the hub are larger in diameter on the JDM ITR assembly compared to the USDM ITR assembly... and thus, requires a 36mm axle nut instead of the 32mm axle nut found on USDM Civics and Integras. The 15" wheel will fit. If you run the larger JDM hub, you will need JDM ITR axles as well so that the outer joint fits the hub correctly. USDM axles will not work without modification.

You have two options there... you can buy custom axles or you can buy CRV outer joints and install them on your current axles. The outer joints can be tapped off the axle with it it a vise and the new ones tapped back on. The wheels don't care which hub they are on.

For the ABS sensors, just transfer them over from your current suspension. They are just hall effect sensors, they don't care.

Yeah, they don't care. When you get the new knuckles, either they'll have threaded hole for the bolt, or you can drill it out and tap it yourself. I did it before, it's easy peasy.
