92-95 Civic Fuel Sending Unit OR Meter Unit Assy., Fuel
I own a 95 CX and my fuel sending unit is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Upon research I found:
37800-SR3-A01 is the part for the CX. And they are all sold out everywhere.
37800-SR3-004 is used for 95 DX and SI's.
If I buy the fuel sending unit # 37800-SR3-004 made for the DX and SI will it work properly on my CX?
Or is there some difference in the size of tank or something like that which will give me an untrue reading on my cluster?

The USDM CX has a 10 gallon tank if I recall while the DX and Si have a 12 gallon?
Anyways, the difference is small and if you can live with the idea it says you have more gas than you probably actually do (don't run her empty) I believe you can successfully use the DX/Si unit.
I cannot live with incorrect readings on my cluster dash fuel gauge.
Do you know if I can retrofit a DX/SI tank on my CX? Know what might be involved?
Or, is there a DIY tutorial on this forum somewhere?
That seems to be the best solution for me at this point, unless i can get a used Sending Unit somewhere.
Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any salvage yards in your area?
You could always do a used one for a short while while you wait for the new ones to return to stock.
Have you checked online OEM dealers like hondapartsnow.com or bernardiparts.com ?

The DX/SI fuel sending unit is available for purchase. So why not upgrade my tank size and buy a new DX/SI sending unit too?
I just don't know if it's possible to use the DX/SI tank on my car. This is my problem, now.
As far as I know, the chassis' are the same and the fitment would be the same regardless of the trim level tank used.
Honda was fairly modular in their designs for specific generations back then.
However, you can do like some veterans here and go play in the u-pull yards and drop the tank from a DX/EX/Si and slap it on a CX in the yard before you go to the expense of buying all the new parts for your car. Lose half a day for peace of mind.

11.9 gallons.
All '92-95 Civics have a fuel tank capacity of 11.9 gallons, except for the CX and VX hatchbacks, which have 10.0 gallon tanks.
BTW, 11.9 gallons is the amount of fuel it will take when bone dry. Hopefully you'll never be filling up a dry tank, unless you're having it replaced or something . . .
