Default 01 Accord - Will not start

I have an 01 Accord, EX, 4 door sedan. I backed it out of my garage to hang a bike up. I got in it to start it but nothing happened. There are no lights, no accessories, nothing. After it sits a while, the "key in ignition" dinging will occur and I can barely see the clock, but it will not even make a clicking sound when the key is turned. I took the battery in, thinking that was the problem, but it is fine. I am 45 miles from a Honda dealer so I have to rely on my local repair shop. Hopefully, someone on this site can shed some light on this issue.

I did not clean them, I just visually inspected them and saw shiny metal. A new twist today. I was preparing to tow it to a repair shop with my wife behind the wheel. I got in to release the shift lever and steering column. When I inserted the key I had all guages and it started up. So, we drove it to the repair shop! We'll see what he can find now.
