K1 Street Vs. Sk2 Pro-C ?
I know there are lots of threads about coilovers discussion, and believe me, I have read most of them, but in this particular case I am looking for help and suggestions to help me choose between two very specific products for a 1999 Civic Ek4 b16a2 engine.
The options are Skunk2 Pro-C coilovers or K-Tuned K1 Street coilovers, both have similar features and price tags, and I know that sk2 has been on the market for long time but lately the K1 are making noise.
This is for a normal street usage, the purpose is to lower the car a bit, improve handling in a casual trackday usage, but primarily street normal drive
Also they seem to have very different spring rates setups
Regards

- Skunk2: 8k Front & 8k Rear (equal)

K1 - Street </br>EG / EK / DC2

Si I narrowed my results to these two, and i like them both, I understand they might not be the best ones, but they are at least good ones and with the upcoming holiday discuounts they are reasonable cheap as well
Because the options are soo many that if i ask what is the best set we will never agree on anything, and i know there are plently more, and in particular I know KWs are much better, but so is its pricetag (for the ones with same features as the k1)

I can't speak on the Pro-C coilovers, but my old EG had a set of Skunk2 coilovers (I'm sure a cheaper <$600 version) and for what it's worth they were TRASH. Ride quality was rough, the handling left a lot to be desired, etc. To be fair they were on the car when I bought it though, so I never knew the specs on them or their history.
Read up on Progressive CS2 coilovers. I'm going to be buying a set soon. I've literally never read a bad review or thing on them, and they can be bought straight from their site for $670 with a variety of spring options.
Edit: Here is a link to that K1 review where he mentions the **** spinning itself - https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspen...c-em1-3301683/

Have you looked at AMR? Or PIC?
I'd probably pick neither of your given options. Though, I'd probably not pick KW or H&R (personally), for the civic either.
There are indeed a million choices. To properly narrow them down, be descriptive about your needs/wants.
Which features are you looking for that landed you at K tuned or Skunk2? There may be a better option that you haven't considered. What do you want out of the coilover?

I have seen those, but they are way too expensive, keep in mind my actual pricetag for the K1 or Pro-C is 900usd, not 1200+
The needs as mentioned early are pretty basic actually, its just a normal street use with casual trackday newbie events, I do want want to have damper adjust capabilities, thats why the lower/entry level options were left behind, try to mantain as much as possible the ride quality and lower the car a bit, (not slammed), and why not say it, have a good looking and nice product as well, which might sound lame but we all like that. Based on that the ProC were choose because of being on the market as a decent choice for several years, and the K1 because they are making much noise and Ktuned is gaining good/decent reputation.
I do understand that AMR and FortuneAuto might have better options but again their pricetag is 1200+
Amr and pic are very similar in price. I've had both, liked my pic's, have only had the amr's for a short period but I do like them a lot. From your 2 options I've heard nothing good on the k1's, and I've heard that the pro c's are decent. Nothing amazing, but decent.

For $300 more, your options open up.
$1200 is not expensive for a decent coilover that one can use on the street and track.
If you're really married to the idea of the two you picked, then I believe the K tuned is the more streetable coilover. I've definitely seen some quick cars (on track) with Skunk2's, but I wasn't huge fan of their ride quality.

I'd probably buy the FA's for the range of setup options if they were meant for a street/track car. And because I'm a ricer and would like to lower the car more than like 1.25".
GC/Konis are easier to set up, however, since there are less things you'll need to measure/keep in mind. I'd likely prefer them for a DD car.
