Hey guys, i've tried to search about this problem but didn't really find anything. The thing is that i bought a turbo kit from ebay but the downpipe doesn't fit, it hits my oil pan on the flex pipe side. The turbo is mounted with the compressor housing facing the gearbox ( it doesn't fit any other way). I could put it backwards but i have the long curvy downpipe, another problem is that even if i would be able to fix the downpipe it will end up being too long. Any ideas how to fix this?

 

Moved to forced induction as there may be more experience with such issues here over the 92-00 civic/sol section.

 

take it to an experienced welder or an exhaust shop

 

You'll probably need to have another one fabricated. Check with local shops, downpipes usually aren't terribly hard to make. Since your kit is likely intended to be AC compatible and it has that "twist" section it will be somewhat more difficult, but still probably shouldn't break the bank.

 

The Problem: eBay parts. They're cheap for a reason.

Solution: Buy a proper turbo setup. I wouldn't sink another dime into this - its past the point of diminishing returns

 

Use open DP

 

Pretty much this. What I had to do was cut my downpipe basically flush with the bottom of the oil pan where it was going to run across the pan. There's no ground clearance anyways, if you want to have an actual exhaust you're going to have to get a downpipe fabbed up. You can get a lot of experience putting an Ebay kit together due to everything being a pain in the butt haha.
