97 ex coupe best swap?
I'm going to swap my d16 its got 230 miles already Im trying to make it fast but I'm not trying to be disappointed and how much money do you think I'll spend on the swap doing it myself let me know I'll rather spend more money and make it fun than spend money and make it slow let me know what you think
Yea I was thinking a b series swap but I heard a lot of different types of series that I didnt know what would be the best and what will I need for a b20z swap?
Do the research. Find what fit your needs. Noone can tell you which is best for you. Only you can decide that. There are tons of info regarding swap. Some simple, most not. Decide your goal and budget, then start doing your homework.
Adding on to what 402 said, we can't make your build for you. Do some research. If you want to push like 600hp do a gsr swap and boost it. If you want a good daily just do a b20 swap. Theres plenty of options, look around.

like those guys said do your research and see what fits your budget and expectations. i have a 97 civic ex and my d series had around 240k on it before a head gasket failed. i opted for a b20 that i had given a refresh (water pump, timing belt, gaskets and a good cleaning). with that said my shell is pretty dirty, but i wanted something to take the daily beating but still have a little pep for fun.
cheap i would go with ls or b20. if your wanting something done fast then id look for another d series.

b series transmissions are difficult, if not impossible, to find cheap these days. expect to spend double what a b20 costs on a good one.
...What? There are LS transmissions all over the place around here for $100-$200 in various states of repair. There are also a few on eBay in the $500 range. Transmissions also aren't too hard to fix, if you download the FSM and follow instructions properly.
i didn't, and wouldn't recommend an ls transmission. better gear ratios/lsd in other transmissions make N/A cheapie engines like the b20 a whole lot more fun to drive.
Hmotors has them, although not cheap, but you can be certain you will get a good one. If they send you one that's not good, they will take it back and give you another.
