Default best swap to do

I have been trying to see what is the best swap to do. I have a 97 dx civic with the stock d16 non-vtec motor now. I just wanted to know if I should just go with a d, b, or k series. No make what I go with I got a gt30r that is going in it. I am looking to make 500hp dd to the wheels at least. I know that with a d series that is about as high as you are going to get it . With the b series it is not all that hard lately because I have read about 800 hp b series running around. But with the k series I know that they are still one up each other just about every mouth form what I know. I have e very good motor builder and tuner that I can get a hold of here in Tampa so that is the last thing I is on my mind. I just want o know what swap to go with.

Any motor swap could be depated for days.

There a D turbos whooping on k's.

Money = fast, end of story.

Guy/gal with the most money wins.

B series ftw,much cheaper to get 500hp, although id go with a K if i wanted 500hp.

You're best off going with a GSR for your goal in my opinion.

You'd do anything to get a license.

Good beginner swap.

FI or k-series IMO isn't a good build for a first-timer.

Yes, a B18C(type r) is just as good but expensive and since youll be changing the internals it be pointless to get a B18C, B18C1 FTW.

Well it comes down to two simple concepts.

A) Neither the stock GSR, nor the stock K20 can handle 500whp on stock internals, so you're going to have to swap them out - that's a given. There's no point in doing all the work to get a K in there if all the internals are getting swapped out anyways. Not to mention even if the K20 could support 500whp on stock internals - the compression would be jumpin past 13 - you'd need race fuel and/or leaded fuel or a unusually high octane fuel..and it'd run you a lot more than you'd want.

B) The GSR is cheaper and easier to swap.

Your best bet for 500whp for the cheapest / easiest is the GSR, rebuilding a K and retrofitting it into your civic is going to cost too much to claim worth. A NA K is fine...a K on 10psi is fine...but then ur pushing compression limits - you won't reach 500 on stock internals so you'll have to lower the compression - which like the ITR completely defeats the entire method the motor uses to make power.

i know that for me to make 500hp or more i have to do something with the internals.i really don't want to have paper thin walls in my motor because that is just another point where something can go wrong. k24 with a k20 head or a b20 with a b16 head or a z6 with a block guard. i know that every one of those set up is going to run into a different problem at one time or another. i just want to go at this trying to know what i am getting my self into.
