EG Kswap: P0336 + P0341
bolt-on k20a2 kpro v1 (works good) the codes I've gotten are crank sensor: intermittent interruption and Variable Valve Timing(VTC) phase gap.
I loaded a k20a2 base-map and made the appropriate changes for it to operate. I haven't driven it yet, as I don't like the idea of timing sensors being bad. Compression is very strong at 200-210 psi so it's not mechanical. For the crank sensor I cleaned it off and inspected the sensor and harness plug both appeared to be fine. The VTC I assume deals with the CAM 1 CAM 2 sensors, I inspected the wires going into the plugs and things seem solid. I will take the sensors out and clean them. The wires are not mixed up either.

Crank pulley doesn't have the white mark due to all the salt and sand up here. But the lines are dead on and did a compression test while I was out there again 213psi, the black links are off about 4 teeth from the dot but I don't get how I could have such good compression if it was really off that far. When me and a friend set it the black links were lined up after a turn it was one off as that's what happens. brand new OEM Honda tensioner. All these pics were taken in under 30 seconds aka on the same cycle, again compression is 213 psi. The extension in the tube may seem question able but I've been doing that trick since 2012 and it' been a good way to check block TDC. I'm lost as to what's the deal with those links and the awesome compression.
Being off(according to the pic) by 4 links would indicate bad timing right? 4-5 links is a fair bit how can I be getting 213 compression. The VTC code didn't show up on the first start up or the first night I started it up a few times. The crank sensor code has been there since first start up, then went a away for a few hours then came back. I used a brand new oem Honda tensioner the chain and guides are orginal but I have no idea how many km's.
So now the links are only one off, possibly not even as there is some range they will move and still be in time. Piston is at TDC and the cam marks are dead on.
