Default Manual Transmission ecu in an Automatic Transmission

Like the title reads, I purchased an automatic 94 Honda Civic. I repaired everything wrong with it. The last thing I needed is that the CEL shoots a code 22. I've bought and replaced the everything having to do with the VTEC, but still CEL on code 22. I placed a skywire from the ECU from A4 to D6 in the ecu wiring.
That's when I noticed the ecu last letter is a capital "A" (i don't know the numbers after the capitol A but I believe it was "A02"

1. Doesn't that capital "A" mean it is a manual tranny ecu?
2. and does it affect anything by running this ecu on an automatic?
3. Would this be the reason for the CEL not cooperating with the skywire?

Any help or advise is greatly appreciated.

No the A means America aka USA while C means Canada etc.

It's the number right after the letter that designates transmission and the last number designates the revision.

A01 would be USA manual revision 1while A51 would be USA automatic revision 1.

If the sticker is missing for that portion of the label you can open it up and inspect for certain components to be present to verify it's an automatic ECU.

Do a google search for "Honda OBD1 ECU automatic to manual" and you should find the DIY threads that show the specific resistors that need to be present to be an automatic.
