SRS reset after pulling 7-2 / 7-3 codes
Hi everyone,
I'm new on the Forum and hope one of the members can answer my question.
I have a '96 Civic Hatchback, 4cyl, 5spd. My SRS light came on just after I had it in for an oil change. I took it to a dealer who ran diagnostics and they told me they pulled codes 7-2 and 7-3 which are Internal SRS failures and I would have to replace the SRS module ( $968.22). I had read about resetting the module and decided to give it a try. It worked, the light went off and has stayed off for a couple days now. Question is, If there is a failure inside the SRS unit, should I have been able to reset it? Just wondering if the dealer is scamming me and/or just trying to sell me an expensive repair job...
