So ive noticed that after racing my car around, my cel will comes on sometimes. Usually after going pretty high into fourth my cel will come on and my car will not let me go passed 3500 rpms. I know I should get codes and whatnot... But the cel will go off if I turn my car off and back on and my rpms will be fine again. I think its my spool solenoid because to me the connection doesnt look the best and it gets pretty hot, not quite sure if its supposed to. Any thoughts or ideas on what I can do, I want to eliminate this problem asap, thanks.

Is that ok to do? I have to unplug a couple wires and put a paper clip in ome to get he codes.. Id assume thats not safe

 

You don't unplug anything. Pull down the carpet on the right side panel of the car next to the blower motor. Find the little two wire plug that is not plugged in to anything, which is next to a little 3 wire plug that is not plugged in to anything. Jump the two wire plug. The 3 wire plug is for dealer test equipment only.
