Icon5 96 w/swap bogging out.HELP!

New to this but I have a 96 civic ex with a vtec single cam it drove fine when I got it a few days ago & then it started to bogging out and sputtering it had no power engine was weak even in neutral. My homeboy Fixed the wire to the iacv and then it drove fine again now today it's back to the same thing no power had someone look to see if the wire came loose again but they say it didn't so I'm lost on what tf is going on. It has 2 codes for o2 & knock sensors also.

D16Y8 should be the motor for your 96 EX.

If a D16Z6 block was put in, instead, there would not be provisions for the knock sensor that is on the back of the block of the D16Y8.

This could potentially put the car into limp mode.

If you have a D16Y8, you might check the wiring from the knock sensor to the ECU.

Read the codes again. The problem with driving with the CEL on all the time is you can't tell when a new code is thrown. Also you get lower mpg and limp mode. So you should have all the sensors fixed so there are no codes.

Ok I got the code read right after it started acting up and once my homeboy fixed the wire it was back to driving normal again check engine light still on for the knock & o2 sensors. But I'll get those changed and go from there.
