Default Converting ODB1 D15B to ODB2

Sup H-T,

Failed the Illinois Emissions test yesterday. I swapped my D16y8 for a D15B due to a spun bearing and it was cheap! Problem: I converted the car, 96 Civic EX to ODB1. Replaced the ecu w/ one from Kenji. The car runs great BUT!!! they can't communicate w/ the ecu... My guess, it's cus the scanner is looking for ODB2 and of course... I'm not that!

Has anyone heard or read about converting a D15B into ODB2? The only two sensors needed are the KNOCK SENSOR and the CRANKANGLE SENSOR. Both clips are hanging as they are not in use. I work at a shop and one of my techs say they can tap the block and thread a hole for the knock sensor. My concern is w/ the crank angle sensor. When I get home today from work I'm going to strip dwn the D16y8 and see how I can manipulate an ODB2 version for this D15B

Any input feel free and speak!!!!

No comments? Whoa, I thought this would make an interesting topic. Well, I'm still trying to find time to get my hands on my Y8. I'll keep you posted.

Okay fellas the quick splice connection trick worked! Much props go to HondaPartsHero for the helpful link. So far no CEL and I don't have a knock sensor light on either. I'm going to run a scan on it w/ the shops scanner and see if I can communicate w/ the ECU. If alls well, then, I'm off to the Emissions center in the morning and see if I pass. WISH ME LUCK.

Then, I'll slap my Kenji ecu back on, cus Vtec at 5300 rpms vs 5k feels just a tad bit better!

Thanks again, I'll keep you posted!
