EK Rear wheel liner, rust prevention?
I've been checking around on the forums for a good amount of time since my EK has a kinda big rust problem on the rear wheels.. Other side remains intact for now and i want to treat it before it gets outta hand...been reading on taking a strip off that is supposedly in the wheel well.. And what about the wheel liner itself? the plastic cover... Should i leave that **** off aswell?
Been thinking to clean it thoroughly and spray a healthy layer of this protective undercoating to keep moisture away... So please, clarify!

I bought my 99 hatch in 2000. The first thing I did was remove that rubber strip around the wheel well. That's all. No signs of rust at all to this day. I am very religious to spray out all the wheel wells when I wash the car with a power washer. I always wash it within a day or two of any snow or ice to get the salt out of there. There is no plastic wheel liner to remove, at least not in the rear. I for sure wouldn't remove the one in front. Hope that helps.
I thought i saw a liner in there last ttime i worked o nthe car but not sure lmao.. I'd love to clean the wheel wells every washing but car sits too low to get it even in there, But cool. ill check it out tomorrow
Thanks fam!
