Well I have come across this and im not sure if its still good or if the customer needs a new flywheel. The part of the flywheel where the bearing sits has pretty much broken a ring from itself, advice?
if the bearing still sits in there snug , it will still work
i worked at a auto shop in japan for a few years
and when ever something like this would happen
or if we just didnt have a bearing on hand like say it would be here in a few days or so
we wernt going to wait around for it to show up so we would replace the bad bearing with a graphite bushing
one with the same size as the transmisson pin and we would fill the bushing with greese punch it into the flywheel so it fits nice and snug and thats it
no car ever came back and it works very well
here in the states you can buy graphite bushings at ace hardware, thats the only place i know has them, but then again its also the only placed i looked ^_-
the graphite bushing doesnt spin like the bearing would but you just greese it and thats it
that rockauto on is cheap 35 bucks
but the bushing will cost 5 and get the job done today
the rockauto option will leave the car sitting for another week

Maybe he'd rather it be fixed right than fixed fast.
