Default Going out to all the Honda certified techs , I can't believe this !

So here is goes I have a 97 accord with 220k miles with a original engine . I'm going to try and make a long story short . Problem I'm facing is I have a crank no spark situation . Here's how it happened my D**b A** pulled the number 4cylinder spark plug wire out while the car was idling . I did this because I noticed a bit of oil around the top of the spark plug wire boot so pulled off to investigate /clean off . I went back into sat on the driver seat because I heard a buzzing sound looked at the dash n the check engine light was on solid n right then the car stumbled and died. Then I thought oh s**t I left the boot off ,so I went back put it back in its cylinder . Went back to the driver seat and cranked it over and no start. So here I am trying to figure out why none of the plug wires have no spark to them . So here comes the long list of things I swapped and checked Distributor, coil, crank position sensor, igniter in distribtor, main relay under dash, swapped the ecm from a good running honda, I'm seriously at the end of my road with this . And last week I took the car to a small auto shop and the shop manager told me yep I checked everything after 4 days of having it and it's the crank sensor he quoted me 450 to put in a new sensor and for labor I said no way don't have the money and technically I can do it myself . I have broken down the car and put a new timing belt a year and half ago and the car has been running for almost 100 k no problems. So it gets better I have the car towed home I buy a sensor put.it in and what do you know still no start and no spark. I'm out of time , ideas , and patience with this car I need to get it running ASAP and don't have the cash to put in a Honda dealership. And yes I cheked the main fuses in the fuse box and yes its getting fuel to the rail and it does have half tank of gas. I need help , if somebody has ever experienced this symptom / problem before please shed some light in my situation. The only thing I could think of would be the actual wiring from crank sensor connector to ecm or I was told a knock sensor may do have the same effect on my car or someone mentioned something about a gear or sprocket the sensor makes contact with being worn out but that really don't make all that much sense because it ran fine before . I seriously need the oem troubleshooting book from Honda but you pretty much have to finance it being it cost so damn much . Thanks for all your help guys and gals I much appreciate it.ohh happy holidays

This normally blows the coil.

New ignitor as well ? Normally it'll also blow the 10a ecu fuse in the engine bay fuse box assembly.

You can actually access the manual contents and all service bulletins through Service Express for $10 for a 24 hour subscription where you can print out whatever you might need from the service manual, the electrical manual and so forth. It's not organized as well as the actual manual--you can search on topics and you can click on links in the documents or even on the index pages. It's designed to be a little inconvenient--since the manual is something like 1500 pages and the files are 1-8 pages each (usually about 2 pages), but if you don't have the $$ for a hardcopy, this is the next best thing. Also, you can see how to troubleshoot various things based on the symptoms you have. You'll still likely have questions to ask in the forum, but you'll have a reference to fall back on.

Alternatively, you can get a one month subscription to Mitchell's DIY for I think it was about $17 for one vehicle, and you can access and print out documents for that month. The electrical diagrams are a little more clear than the service manual, though I think the general content isn't as good at the service manual. I actually subscribed to both at the beginning of the month--kind of wish I had printed more from Service Express--didn't expect certain problems, and used Mitchell's so I have a reference for the rest of the month.

I know either of these might not be as ideal as free, but you can access this information instantaneously once you pay.

Your inbox is full therefore I was not able to respond to your PM directly. Figured I would give posting in this thread a shot in the hopes that you see it.

Cheers!
In the CD7 PDF file the ignition trouble shooting starts on page 1111 (23-91). It covers both F22B1 and F22B2 internal and external coil systems. Even though this manual is labeled for the OBDI 94-95 Accord. The testing procedures are identical for the OBDII 96-97, the wire colours may differ. However, as far as I can remember they are pretty much all the same as well.

Cheers!

Does anyone have any other suggestions of what mite be the problem. Or does anyone know the order of the whole ignition circuit what takes place 1,2,3 ect. I'm trying to check each point along the circuit to see what's missing out of the ignition process. Also does anybody know if the cranks position sensor would have to make contact with points on the crankshaft to send the proper signal to the computer or if it just senses the crankshaft spinning. I have been seaching all over online to try to find a guide or chart for my specific model to troubleshoot the whole igniting system. Not much luck . Even you tube is not thorough enough to be able to pinpoint the problem. Do members here think I would actually need a scope like a snap on versus to get down to this problem. I have tried connecting up a obd2 scan code checker and the system had no codes to pull. At the moment I only have a circuit test light , a fluke mutimeter, and various hand tools . Thanks for all and any help .

Does your car have keyless entry, a remote car starter or a security system, ether stock or aftermarket?

Car is all stock . I never have installed a remote start. And if it does have a security system it's all stock I don't think it does . It has a blinking light by the radio that says security . On the remote it has a panic button. And If I lock the doors and open the door through the window from the outside the lights and horn go off and on . I guess it's like a theft detterant
