Inquiry: What is the power potential of my particular ls/vtec turbo build?
Hi I have a 1996 civic ek hatch and I was wanting to know what's the maximum amount of horsepower my build is good for. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. It has a built b18b bottom end. Je pistons with stock compression, scat connecting rods, eagle crank, acl bearings, arp rod bolts, arp head studs, gsr head, stock cams, upgraded valves, springs, and retainers, precision 5431 turbo, tial 38mm wastegate, manual boost controller, blox turbo manifold, pro series intake manifold, catless downpipe and skunk 2 full mandrel bent exhaust, very large intercooler and charge pipes, warlboro 255 fuel pump, 1000cc injectors, half radiator, gsr trans, stock sleeves, and I'm taking it to RLZ in NC to have it dyno tuned. I would like to make 400whp but I want to know how much horsepower I can safely make on 93 octane. I very rarely floor the car and if I do its highway pulls. I would like the car to be reliable and safe as can be. Hopefully some people can tell me what kind of power this car is capable of.

In all fairness, no one can say anything unless you mount the turbocharger onto the car, head to a competent tuner and put the car through its paces on a dynamometer. A Precision 5431 is good to about 440whp at over 22psi of boost pressure. You seem to have the components installed to handle that kind of power, so as long as everything was installed properly and attention to detail was given to the right parts, there's no reason why you can't maximize the potential of your turbocharger.
But no one can answer this question blindly. Time to head to a competent tuner and find out. The car will make.... What it'll make..

You're limited by the turbo here. Everything else seems to be on par. Although with that cast manifold, it may take more boost pressure to do it.
Well if my turbo is the limiting factor how much boost should I go to to make 400whp. I was thinking 16 or 17psi but not sure how much is safe?
