Default How much power???

Okay guys here is my question, can i get to the 480whp mark on my turbo civic with ls swap.

Specs: Eagle h beam rods, stock pistons, arp head studs, cometic head gasket, king race rod and main bearings, ramhorn turbo manifold, borg warner gm5 turbo, 3" downpipe and exhaust, 38mm tial wastegate, 750cc precision injectors, 255lph walbro fuel pump, big a$$ intercooler, 2.5 ic pipping and greddy type rs bov.

some people say i can but some people think im retarded for thinking i can make 480 out of an ls. I just want to know what you guys think and what some of ya are making on ls's. thanks

a. why stock cast pistons? i dont think they will hold that kind of power,

b. what kind of fuel managment and it all depends on who is tuning it

im not saying it cant be done but a matter of for how long it will hold together

it was a budget build and thats why i only bought eagle rods and brand new stock pistons, as far as fuel management i dont have any just the 750 precisions and 255 walbro pump

stock pistons will blow before stock rods, so i say you cant do anymore than a stock block ls.

Those stock cast pistons will take a helluva beating with the high cylinder pressures of that power level. Frankly put, they're just not made for it. I'm also not saying it CAN'T be done, but your tuner's margin for error will be MINIMAL, especially if you're planning on running pump gas. What fuel will you be using?

Word to the wise: sell your stock pistons & go aftermarket, or save up until you can purchase some. You have everything else, make your build complete for peace of mind. If not, lower your power goal.

I will be using pump gas which is 93 octane, and the thing is that my motor has already Ben put together and I'm driving it lol

Id shoot for 350...Its a solid number to run great times with and assuming your tuner tunes conservatively, it can last. I have a stock motor that ive been running for 3 seasons now making 350whp. I think that should be your limit though.

The turbo dosnt have any markings on the hot or cold side indicating the size, but I went to Borg warners site and got the map for the compressor side and turbo peaks out at 620cfm which I would say is good for 500hp

okay well my gm 3 bar map sensor was bad so i had to use my stock map sensor, since i was limited to 10psi i made 270whp and 250trq, and on the last run my gm5 turbo blew a seal and started smoking pretty bad. But even with a blown turbo i took it to the track last night and was running 9's on the 1/8 mile
