Default B-eg introduction

Hi,

My name is Bas de Rooij I was born 8 januari 1988 in a town in the south of The Netherlands/Holland.
From a Young age I was opsessed with cars and after I got my drivers licence I bought the car I dreamed about for such a long time. This Grey scratched, dented and a little rusted Honda Civic EG MJ 1992 would be the car where I would put all my afford, time and money in to make it like I always dreamed of.

I bought the civic like this back in 2006:

After 3 years of working in the evening hours it started to look nice with a fresh paintjob, coilover suspension setup and some other parts installed.

Another 2 years later is was crowned “nicest EG/EK Civic of The Netherlands”.

At that time it looked like this:

I loved the car as it was but with the D15b2 engine is was a typical “all show no go car”, next up on my list was a swap to a better engine with the potential to reach my goal to ever run a 10 second NA drag/street car. After some research I found out the K24 is capable of doing mad things and after seeing guys like Rob Reinen, the Humble eg, Jeremy Lookofsky, the driveshaft shop eg and lots of others guys doing incredible things I know what to do.

After some email contact with Jeremy Loofkosky @dragcartel I was sold and decided to do the first ever K24 eg swap in this little country, it all started with the plan of a stock k24 but after buying DC cams it all went whrong……all my time and money went into the car since then (since I’m a full time student it took me 3 years to come to this point).

Some pictures I took of the street trim:

My engine speclist so far:

- K24a3 Euro Accord type-s bare Block + Head
- Wiseco 87mm pistons CR 13.7
- BC Sportsman light weight rods
- ARP Headstuds
- Cometic head gasket .045 Thick to reduse the CR to 13.2
- ACT Twindisk clutch
- ERL Modified S2000 oil pump
- Modified chain tensioner
- Supertech intake valves +0.5mm oversize
- Supertech exhaust valves stock size
- Supertech valve springs
- Supertech retainers and seats
- Supertech seals
- Drag cartel level 4 camshafts
- 4-1 megafone header 3” collector
- 3” custom RVS/Aluminium exhaust.
- E85 pump fuel
- AEM EMS series 2
- ID1000cc
- IPS intake mani
- 80mm Accufab TB

Power? it made 317hp (276whp) on a Dynojet but i always thought this setup would make at least 300whp on E85 fuel.

Gearbox:

-EP3 EDM 6speed gearbox
-Mfactory LSD
-Carbon lined synchrotech 1-4 synchro's
-Competition clutch twindisk setup

Car:

-+/- 900KG street trim
-OMNI drag coilover set
-PU suspension bushings all around
-6point rollcage
-Ktuned traction bar
-Lenso 13x7,5 15x8x24.5 M&H
-Lenso 15x3,5 15x4.5x25 M&H skinnies
-lots of other parts…

All of that was has past......

We are now almost 2 years further and i kind of lost my interrest in the more race spec of the gold car and started really missing my weekend/cruise/show street car.
That is why I bought a EG shell and rebuild it from scratch to make it fun and good looking daily driver to drive to work every day.

A fine looking daily is a nice 2 have kind of thing but every time i drive it i still miss that awesome looking gold car and aspecially the power it made....it gave me so much joy to race all that BMW's, Mercedes and Porsches.
Thats why i decided to rethink the whole gold car design and setup to make it more driveable on the streets during the weekends.
I sold some (mostly) exterior parts, and i am now deciding what to do with the overal exterior looks of the car.

My plan is to rebuild a k20a2 cylinderhead and use my 500 kilomters old bottem end, by using a thicker Cometic headgasket i would like to reduce the CR to somewhere around 13:1.
With that compression it should be possible to run the engine on Ron98 streetfuel and race it with Ron102 fuel with two different fuel/ignition maps in my AEM v2 ecu.
My goal is to reach at least 300hp with a drivable powerband.

I am now looking which way to go (intake, TB, Exhaust wise)....so all the help is welcome.

Regards,

Bas de Rooij a.k.a B-eg.
