Manual tranny onto engine that had an automatic tran on it
Hey guys doing my first engine swap on my 98 dx my d16 head gasket blew and I bought another d16 out of an automatic civic I believe the torque converter is still connected, but is it possible to throw my manual tranny onto the new engine and if so what steps need to be taken thanks for the help
Take off the TC and flex plate (looks like a flywheel with holes in it) and use your manual transmission flywheel bolts to mount your flywheel and clutch.
Closing the thread before it gets out of hand.
There is a difference on asking clarity questions after doing research (being cautious) and not doing any kind of research and asking.
It's appears by your post you are going for the latter, not former.
Now in your defense, you may not be aware of some tools of critical research so I shall provide them to you.
One of them is the FAQ:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...tions-1998336/
Another is online OEM parts sites to compare part numbers and see illustrations of part blown apart:
1995 Honda Civic 3 Door DX KA 5MT clutch - torque converter
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...RQUE+CONVERTER
And lastly, there is google. If you add your first search term to be "site:honda-tech.com" without quotes, you will find accurate results of what you may be looking for specifically from this site:
LMGTFY
These tools will greatly aid you in just about any challenge you find with your Honda.
