Default Dust plate fitment during auto to manual?!?!?!

Hey guys, I am doing an auto to manual swap and the manual dust plate doesn't want to bolt up to my engine. None of the holes align. It's weird because the tranny came off the same year civic, with the same engine, except that it was a manual.
Is there something I need to do that i'm missing?
Would it be ok to drive around without a dust plate?
Thanks.

Yeah because so much stuff manages to come in through that 1" opening right? I mean I recently seperated my tranny/ block and found all sorts of ***** in there...old soda can, $0.63 in change, a shoe etc.

Seriously I have not had one on my motors and have yet to have anything odd inside or any type of damage or anything. Possibly if you live in a area where you have to drive through a lot of gravel...I suppose I could see that.

Someone prove me wrong
