Replacing my J30 but ?'s
I have a 98 sedan with a j30. It had a pretty bad oil leak so when I got it checked it was the crankshaft seal. Part ain't much but the work to get to it is. Now my car has 236k miles but still runs great. But here's my issue...for the amount I have to pay to get that fixed I could replace the motor with a lower milage one for the same price if not cheaper. What would you guys suggest? Also I thought about possibly changing it to the J30 with the c.o.p's. Is there really a power difference in the two motors and is there anything I would have to change going to c.o.p's
Decision is yours.....new engine vs seal replacement.
To go COP, I'll assume you have a 98-99 V6. Short list, PCM which will require you to reprogram key(s) wire harness...then since the sensors/PCM between the 98-99 and the 00-02 drive different things in the gauge cluster, some work will need to be done there
