Replace starter or solenoid?
I have a 1997 honda accord lx. I keep being told so many different things. Sometimes my car starts other times it doesnt. I have to turn everything off when I park the car due to My batteries not recharging right. Tapping on the solenoid while turning the ignition starts it right up. So do I need to replace the solenoid or the starter?

solenoid might just need this:
Starter Repair Rebuild Kit Solenoid Contact Plunger Set Honda Toyota Denso | eBay
or just a cleanup.

That will work on the M/T cars. AT cars use the Mitsuba starter, different beasty that is a bit more elaborate to fix.
Verify the battery terminals are clean and tight.
Verify the battery is fully charged and holding a charge.
Verify the cables are installed correctly.
Verify the ground and bonding jumpers are installed clean and tight.
