How to bypass check engine light?!
So my 93 civic has a code 22 being thrown and i need to smog my car so i need to take off the check engine light to pass, anyone know how? Help!! This is just to pass cause im low on funds to fix it rn .
That is usually an easy code to fix, often for zero dollars.
The code is for the VTEC pressure switch. First consider does the engine even have VTEC, or do you have a mis-matched situation of VTEC ECU on a non-VTEC car? If there is a VTEC solenoid and pressure switch, make sure it is plugged in.

This will allow you to bypass the vtec oil pressure switch to get rid of the CEL. However the switch itself may be bad or you may have a larger underlying issue with oil pressure which is big problem.

Majority of the time though its always the simple things that cause issues. In other words my money would be on a wiring/pressure switch issue.
A good cleaning (the likely issue would be a blockage somewhere) a new pump and switching oil thickness to a viscosity that restores proper pressure.

I feel like it could be wiring as well, and the solenoid is brand new so it cant be the pressure switch if its brand new, so maybe the other green switch that plugs into the pressure switch along with wiring?
