I have hondata and the override for fan radiator was on, with turn off at 37mph. (Which is default when u check the box to override)

Well it was overheating hitting the 220 cel if you do full 3rd, 4th, and 5th its CEL and engine cut at 4k or sumthing.

I set it higher, but my question is what mph should it go off at? There is no "go off at "?? Temperature" just mph.

 

Something else is wrong if you are overheating while rolling. Check the car over, can't fix that with a cal.

 

What temp should the fans turn off if at any speed?

 

When I tune cars I generally have the fans turn off ~15 degrees below heat threshold max (over heating temp) and have at a speed of 30-35mph. This has always proven to be reliable on street cars, even using small rad cores.

 

I asked the wrong question, the options are what temp the fan turns on and if it hits a MPH speed it turns off.

If you gun it and then brake (decrease airflow from front) or even hit the clutch from a high speed( water pump spins slower) then my cel 220 was poping on easy. Thats where I was thinking a fan on all the time to 155mph would be better. But idk if there are any bad side effects?

I heat wrapped everything and got a turbo blanket but still need to test .

Also what is the oem fan turn on coolant Temp stock?

 

Normally I would agree to this, but my car overheated with the factory fan temp setting in Hondata. The reason for this is that with 318 turns, some being fairly sharp or lower speed, the radiator fan would kick on and off. Even with a few 80MPH sections uphill it was doomed because it saw more average speed just above the cutoff which isn't a ton of flow when you're hitting 9,000RPM that many times. Unless you have a shroud from the front bumper opening to the radiator with no other paths for air to take, I'd set it at maybe 42MPH. Or just get a full-size radiator because that works too.

 

I set that at 155 mph, so its always on above 180 degrees.


Ill let you guys know how she runs at high speed.

 

Forgive me for sounding rather "old", but what's wrong with just letting the OEM thermostat for the fan do it's job based upon water temperature? Why have a MPH associated at all? There are thousands of enhanced Hondas that have no problem running off of the thermostat and leaving the computer out of the equation.

*Edit*: For some systems I've found that the fan is useless after about 40mph (depending upon front end design of the chassis) anyway, as the air speed going into the radiator is faster than what any 2000cfm fan can provide.

For me, and my Integra, the fan needs to be controlled by temperature as the airflow is not enough even at highway speed.
