Default Performer-X kit.

So I decided to hop off the all motor train and accept that I'm going to make much more power for less money boosted, to an extant.

As I was browsing around different setups/parts,I stumbled upon this..These guys have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. This motor looks like a little B series model motor though,if so that's pretty cool.

http://www.phantasmusa.com/edelbrock1509.html
"Using components such as 8.5:1 pistons, aftermarket connecting rods, modified heads and performance cams, power levels of 240-250 hp (crankshaft) are possible @ 15-18 psi boost."

Well done.

I mean I'd expect this out of a eBay store, but edelbrock is a good co. Luckily it's not coming directly out of their mouth.

never heard of a performer x kit lol. anyway small china turbo log manifolg with a huge intake manifold. not the best setup IMO if i was going for that amount of power id run stock IM.

I agree boost is gonna end up cheaper per HP, but ebay is not the place to find quality

Edelbrock (1509) Race Version, Bolt-on Turbo Kit, Honda Civic Si (1999-00) DOHC VTEC

Actually, the Performer X kit was initially for a D-series, and they later had created the B-series kit later on. I'd call to confirm before clicking the "Add to Cart" button, as this has been discontinued for a number of years, now, and they may have just not erased it from their site. (It's quite common actually)

Actually the true kits didn't come with any "small china turbo", they used Garrett GT28Rs for the D-series and GT2860RS for the B-series, when these were still in production at the time. That cast manifold was actually very nice, and are still in demand for the T28 B and D series guys even now. Edlebrock was the only other C.A.R.B. legal kit that was available at the time, and it even had an intercooler and BOV from TiAL, something that the GReddy didn't come with, that was C.A.R.B. legal.

At the time it was actually a very nice setup. They used a smaller turbocharger because of the C.A.R.B sticker and qualifications that they had to purchase. It wasn't very popular because at the time of the release, only the C.A.R.B people that had to worry about that kind of stuff in CA and NY would be the only ones to purchase it. When you had companies like Inline Pro, RevHard, FMAX, MAXREV, GReddy, and Cybernation (2002+ mainly) with "kits" out all at the same time, it was a very difficult sell to make to justify the cost other than because of the C.A.R.B stamp.

So, they stopped production by about 2009..

If it is a true sell, jump on it, but call to confirm first, OP.

Quality companies like IPG parts and Real Street Performance are Ebay sellers so I dont see the issue.

Agreed I get a ton off ebay as well, key is looking for name brand stuff and ordering from a reliable vendor that is not selling a knock off. OEM honda parts from dealships that are doing online sales ETC. Recently I been just going through lighting motorsports they have just about everything and can usually beat Ebay prices

turbo kits....Ive yet to see a "legit" turbo kit on ebay at least no new ones

I'm basically running this kit on my car. I don't have the intake manifold and I used a Gt2871r turbo on mine. It's a very enjoyable street setup. It's quiet and the a/c blows cold still. BTW, I bought most of the parts for my kit from eBay. Garrett, synapse, Id1000's, hondata, ect. I feel like ebay is a fine source to purchase parts as long as you do your research before you buy.

It's not the price, it's the fact that they don't exist NEW anymore. Could be an old section of the website that was never monitored

You can recreate this kit if you know where to look however buying the actual kit new will be impossible as is been discontinued for some time now and used ones are impossible to find.

I can link you to similar components that will accomplish the same goals

You guys were missing the point of this thread,as was whoever changed the name of my title. They say you can make 240-250 crank hp out of 15-18psi..that doesnt make any sense to me.

I'm going to piece together my own kit though thanks dudes.

You're welcome, and yes the title was inappropriate for the content. No one else would have understood the subject of your discovery on a search query.

Please think of that in the future if you plan to do more with your subject here.

Best of luck to you..

If you do manage to find one even used for a good price buy it. Lots of good parts in there.

If anyone else said they're making 200-210whp (230-250hp) at 15-18psi, it would be blasphemy. Well not to that extreme but cmon, those numbers are way too low for any boosted b series!!That was the point.W.e though.

Yes it is a pretty decent kit, definitely agree. But still I'm piecing together to have every aspect of my build custom to me.Cuz I'm cool.

That has to be grossly underrated. On the D series turbo (GT2560R) my LS made 300wp/300trq @ 19psi, but it was definitely near its limit
