Default EG hatch/b18b1 swap - map sensor question

So a buddy of mine had a swap done by a shop on his EG hatch, he got a b18b1 put in, it has a pr4 intake manifold and im wondering what map sensor setup he needs to get and how to hook it up, as he hasnt driven it since he got it back(about a year) because it doesnt have any power when trying to take off. I took my 4 bar map sensor off my car to see if it would work but it just trys to start(kinda does) then dies. and i figure that its just because it doesnt read right. It has a connector like the TPS if that helps.

It doesnt have a spot on the throttle body for a map sensor so i figure it needs something like this
90 93 Acura Integra Map Sensor Solenoids Purge Valves Part 079800 1691 | eBay

any help is much appreciated

This is a pr4 vs p75 intake manifold the pr4 is on the left, it doesn't have a spot for the map sensor

You just use a stock MAP sensor on a non-turbo setup. If it were turbo you would need the extended range sensor as well as a chipped and tuned ECU.

Also make sure the MAP and TPS sensor plugs are plugged to the right sensors, the one with a solid white wire goes on the MAP.

What is the stock map sensor though? I used a TB mounted one and just ran a vacuum hose off the nipple to the intake, but I'm sure that's not right

It seems like the pr4 is obd0 from what I can find, is there a way to hook up a different map sensor than a throttle body mounted one? Since there is no mount point there? Or will we need to get a p75 intake?
Or will the p75 throttle body fit on the pr4??

Go to your nearest pick n pull and get one from a '92 - '93 DX/LX, they had a firewall mounted MAP with the proper bracket for your car. Any Honda MAP will work though, even a TB mounted one works the same you just have to figure out how to mount it and run vacuum line from it. It should start fine with no MAP and run half decent. If it wont start you've got other issues.

It starts and runs but has absolutely no power, the tb mounted one would be ideal, as it has only 1 vacuum line. So just mount it somewhere and run a vacuum line from it to the tb?

Code 3 indicates a MAP sensor circuit issue. Using wire colors, verify you have the correct sensor plug connected to the MAP sensor.

Yes, although the firewall mounted MAP is easier to deal with. It does have 2 or 3 lines, but only one actually coming off the sensor and going to the throttlebody, the other line just loops around the MAP IIRC.

Yes I understand that... There is no map sensor at all... That's why I'm asking which one I need
