Icon4 MAP Sensor interchangability??

SOLVED:

Problem-

my b20v swap MAP sensor went out- b16a head / GSR throttle body/gsr map sensor
I was wondering if the map sensors between automatic D-series will work with the DOHC swaps map sensor.

ALSO to answer the question some may have---

PART NUMBERS for the MAP SENSOR is EXACTLY identical from an automatic d16y7 to a DOHC MANUAL b16A2. With this, I have concluded that it doesn't matter which one you use (for the most part- because it worked for me, and worked better than before -due to a dying sensor-)
I'm not sure which map sensor I received, however... SO

TO ANSWER THE QUESTION.. YES- they ARE interchangeable between different models/makes
check the sensor numbers on the top of the MAP sensor... these worked with my b20v swap

the
b18c GSR MAP sensor - 079800-3000 5V PS-30
worked interchangeably with
b16a2 EM1 MAP sensor - 37830-PAA-S00 5V PS-33
and the unknown ALSO worked, which is....
??? - TN079800-4220 5V PS-33

SO- again, if the part number is IDENTICAL from an AUTOMATIC d16y7 map sensor and a B16A2, and the sensor is interchangeable between b18, I see absolutely no reason why an automatic sensor from a D-series wouldn't work on a b18.

HOPE THIS HELPED. I couldn't find ANYTHING related to this, so I wanted to make a post.

You should be fine. Put it on and try it. It certainly won't make things worse.

You were right, JR- I put it on, and viola- shes running again, zero issues (aside from the knock sensor which is being disabled in a few days)

its funny. I have a feeling that the MAP sensor has been going out for a while now, because it idled a little funny, and I guess the CEL didn't come on till it completely **** out on me.

now its running MUCH better. much smoother on the road, and idle, than before.

______

appreciate the reply, boss!

all is good

TO ANSWER ANY FUTURE LURKERS, YEARS FROM NOW- YES- THE MAP SENSOR WORKED.

Specs of my motor:

B20V
b20b high compression block, stock end
b16a (1989 spec) head, aftermarket valves, retainers, dual valve springs, ported to type R specs
GS-R camshafts
type R spec skunk2 pro manifold
GSR throttle body
