Hello everyone, I just got home from Firestone for a simple oil change. I had them look over the vehicle as well to see why my car is sputtering at times. They found that the whole exhaust has to be replaced besides the cat (but they don't think the exhaust is causing this issue). They quoted this around $700. Please tell me I can get this done somewhere else cheaper. It is all bolt on so I can't see the labor being that difficult. Can anyone else tell me what they've paid for similar repairs? You're paying them to remove AND to install PLUS parts. So yeah, next time just ask them to break down the pricing.

 

Here is the breakdown:

 

So the labor is 180 but your parts are taking up the rest. Ask them for the hrly rate. But my statement still stands..charged to remove and install.

 

So basically, you're telling me it's overpriced?

 

I'd say, its better to find day to install a new exhaust yourself.

I found a place that will do it dirt cheap if I provide the parts. I'm going to have them give another opinion on it and go from there.
