Default 96 Civic - Auto Transmission Grinds in all Gears

Hey all, I have a 1996 Civic DX with auto trans. Did quite a bit of researching but nothing popped up like what happened with my car. Last night I changed upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, both cv shafts, as well as drained and refilled the transmission fluid. A little back round history I bought the car about 3 weeks ago and have been driving it since. It shifted hard once in awhile (3rd to 4th gear?), so I changed the transmission fluid, and had about a 1/4" of fuzz/ goop on the magnetic plug. I drove the car out of my garage (went just fine) got to the street about 100 ft away and the car grinded when I was trying to go into the street. I then tried to put it in reverse and it grinded again but moved a little under its own power. Now whenever I change gear position it grinds and indicates its in gear but then doesn't move. Im at a loss and really need the car, hope someone can help, thanks in advance.

Assuming you used proper trans fluids, filled it to factory spec... Double check to make sure the shift linkage on the trans isn't bound up by debris or doesn't have a lot of play. Hoping for the best.

One or both axles are not fully seated in the transmission.

I drained and filled the trans with ATF DW-1 (which I was told was the replacement for ATF Z1).

Will I have to remove everything again? Or just push them in harder? This was my first time changing CV Shafts.

Shouldn't have to remove everything, just inspect the trans to axle spacing. If it has about 3/16ths of room it's too far out, a closer fit is needed (something like an 1/8th").. you can take a pic and post it and we can tell you for sure.

I just looked and the passenger side is about an inch the cylinder thing to the transmission. It was difficult to get in, so just remove the hub nut and push it in? And is the cv joint even good now?

Tough to say over the interwebs, but take the base of the axle shaft (the part right next to the trans) and attempt to spin and insert the shaft to the trans. Shouldn't have to take the nut off...

Exploit the weight and momentum of the knuckle in a fast pushing motion to pop and lock the end of the axle into the differential.
