Hi,
I did technical service for honda civic hatchback 2009 1.8. The parts that were changed are:
oil engine 5W-40 (not original) and oil filter(org).

after the service I feel like my engine much weaker. Can it be because of the service ? what can be done

 

Don't Hondas call for 5/20 wt oil? Maybe you went too heavy a viscosity on the oil.

 

yeah 5w-40 is to thick for that motor. I have a 09 civic Ex with the R18 and always use Mobil1 5w-20 and runs good after I do the oil maintenance.

 

its not correct. It should be by temp where you live. 20 more cold area in israel it from 30- to 40 oil.

 

Even if you are running 5w40 and it is a little ticker it shouldn't make that much a drastic change of loosing that much power.
