Default Turbo-D series ?

So I have a 97 ex coupe with a d16y8 103k on it and I just got a turbo and down pipe with top mount manifold it's a t67 or t4 I believe maybe be the same but I was wondering how much boost can o hold on stock trans and internal I was thinking 6psi being the least and 8psi being the most but I'm not sure I don't know much about boosting cars I just have some knowledge.

Don't focus on "PSI" as a goal. Set a power goal, and use as much boost as it takes to reach it. Stock internals should reliably hold at 200 hp, any further and you're risking your engine.

That being said, pick up a chipped OBD1 ecu and get it tuned once it's together. Running a stock ecu with boost is a recipe for disaster.

Stock d-series + Topmount + T4/67mm = lag for daaaays

That is in NO WAY a good fit for your setup. Stock D series safely cap out around 240whp meanwhile this setup is for something much larger than that (600ish?).

Also, not all turbos are created equal. My post was to point out that the turbo you have is better suited on an LSx than on a D series, especially a stock one. If you're serious about turbocharging, first of all read the Forced Induction FAQ and secondly, look for small T3 framed turbos, not large frame T4 ones.
