Water drops go into the vehicle when it rains a lot. I have been researching and the water goes into the points 1, 2 y 3 (See following pictures please).
Point 1: The glass gasket is opened in this area. I have poured water in this area and it goes into the vehicle.<br/>Point 2: Here is a plastic part and if i pour water here it also goes into the vehicle.
Point 3: This is the rear part of roof. Here is a plastic part and if i pour water here it also goes into the vehicle.
You can see the internal areas where the water drips in the following pictures. They are identified with numbers and colours to know its relationship.
Does somebody know how i can repair it? Does exist any product to seal the glass gasket and the plastic parts of the roof?
Re: Water drops go into my Del Sol. Help me please.
Yr and make etc is needed in EVERY tech post.
That said, if you have a 95 or below, you have the old, design flawed, front gasket.
They improved the design and you can tell by the lil wings added to to top front of the doors. (may have been replaced with used ones that leak too tho)
Its like $180 at majestic, so get that to start, and good luck!
Re: Water drops go into my Del Sol. Help me please.
When my sol leaked above the windshield (#1) it was from a improperly installed windshield which caused lots of rust.... pull off the interior plastics (they just clip off after the sun visors are off) and take a closer look. Dont remove the top exterior windshield molding, its part of the windshield.
Theres nothing under #3 (the roof/windshield picture) its just a solid bottom gutter that drains towards #1 and the front targa rubber, with a clip on top. The clip cannot be removed with the windshield in the car. Theres holes underneath the front targa rubber strip near those drains that "can" let water into the car if the front targa strip isnt glued down with weatherstrip glue to seal the holes.
#3 on the rear seal is very similar to #3 on the front seal. and cant leak itself but flows towards places that can leak if the strip isnt correctly glued down. (or if your trunk leaks)
Do yourself a favor and get a tube of "Shin-etsu" grease from the dealer and put it on all your rubbers, it will help immensely. If my rear targa seals start to leak i know its time for more grease.
If the roof is leaking the trunk is also likely leaking, check it for water aswell. If its wet that water could be from the sail panel clips or from your antennae they are both known to leak.

Shin-etsu will help immensely. It conditions the rubber so it is softer and able to expand and contract.
When I still had my first del Sol, it leaked right above the driver side seat at the corner of the window. Inspected my weather strips only to find the PO had sealed the drain with some gasket sealer. Cleaned out the drain with compressed air and a small screwdriver and it helped.
TL;DR
93-95 del Sol's have a different weather strip design that is more prone to leaking. Del Sol's weatherstripping wear from targa top removal and replacement. Condition your weatherstrips routinely.
I will pull of interior plastics in the areas where are the drops. Then I am going to puor water in the external areas (1, 2 & 3). I think it could help me to locate the problem. I think that could be the drainages for example. They could be blocked.
How can i proceed if the problem is in the roof gaskets? Can i paste them with glue?
Re: Water drops go into my Del Sol. Help me please.
MOST of the problem is in the original gasket I'll bet. If not, it WILL leak from the corners eventually.
Shin-etsu is the ONLY recommended conditioner for Hondas, but that other stuff may work. Since it's cheaper than the new gasket, it's worth a shot. (Shin-etsu i mean)
But again, the gasket is a design flaw. It doesn't matter what year you order it for either. They are all the new design.
Nave may also be onto something, but you CAN remove it with the windshield in. With the Gasket pulled back, I was able to slide it to the back about a half inch and pull it straight up. Seems to be a place where lots of crap likes to gather too, so it might be another part of the problem. Remove it, clean, and maybe a lil silicone on the front edge, tho, if its draining properly it should all exit thru the main gasket.
