Got a "new" one, a 1997 Accord EX-R.

Only 80k km but developed a problem this week.

Dome light, intermitent wiper, door alarm, electric antena, rear window defogger all stopped working... checked all fuses and nothing wrong.

Changed the integrated control unit (Brown box near interiour fuse box) with a working one from my 1995 EX CD5.. did not help..

Anybody have any clues what could cause this?



When I have internet etc installed in my now home I will be posting pictures etc, of her.

 

I didn't think the ICU was the same between the 95 and 97....example the 95 does not have "variable intermittent" wipers.

Are you sure the under hood fuses are all good.....using the 94 Accord, the #37 7.5amp fuse.

You may have a point that they are different.
They looked the same but I never checked the code.

I can not remember my 97 EX-R having variable intermitant wipers though.
(my wife uses it now and is not here)

 

Again, I'm using what I know about the US versions.....so yours could be different. I'd really look at the under hood fuse box and be sure there isn't a blown fuse to the ICU.

 

Holy crap...
I feel like the biggest noob on earth... After rechecking everything I thought I would have one more look at the fuses....
I guess you already know where this is going...
I am wel aware that I would come accross a lot smarter by not admitting this...
It is the 7.5 amp dome light fuse that caused all of the problems..

Just thought I should post this for the next ..... like me who has not figured this one out yet..

On the bright side a damn cheap fix.
