96 coupe/OBD2 Jdm d15b vtec swap - EVAP and knock sensor CEL codes
Ok guys I'm new to this site an new to the d series. I have a 96 coupe an I have a Jdm d15b vtec with obd2. It have one solenoid, 4 wire o2 an p2p ecu. My code scanner keeps pulling up evap low pressure, an knock sensor. What could be the problem? Maybe wrong ecu?
Okay I found the evap problem. It was two places on the intake capped off. I put a 3 way on it an some hose an the code went away an now the idle is down where it's supposed to be. An so the jdm d15b should have a knock sensor?
The knock sensor screws into the back of the block near the alternator. All D series blocks have a raised place there in the casting for it, but oftentimes the hole is not finished and tapped.
You can sort of rig a knock sensor by mounting it anywhere and hooking up the wire, which will keep the CEL off, but if it is not securely attached to the engine block it can't actually detect knocking.

It's a EX coupe. An oh okay I gotcha man. An yeah I seen the plug for it laying on top of the alternator but could never find the sensor. But okay that helps a lot thanks man. An would you know how I can find out the year of my engine?

There should be a year code stamped on the head.

Okay how about this. This is what I came up with. My head says p08-2 an my block says d15b. So what the hell is this lol?
1992
Fits with OBD1 JDM D15B VTEC.
Do you live in the U.S.? If so, what state? You may want to find out whether you can pass emissions with an OBD1 ECU. Other members may also know whether the engine will run well with a P2P ECU if you install a knock sensor (KS).

Oh okay. Well I live in Mississippi we don't have any laws like that. I use to run open pipe lol. Jus noise ordinance tickets. An yeah it has the p2p ecu. But yet it have a obd2 plug that I use to scan an found those problems. It don't have a adapted harness or nothing to the ecu. I'm really confused on what I have. How can I post pics for you to see?
Oh okay good deal. Could you tell me what rebuild kit I would need to do this? It runs fine jus high in miles an using a bit of oil
