Default Shift boot and skunk ****

Recently replaced my OEM shift ****, (long one), with a skunk one. Since its shorter in length, the boot slides down and you can see the shifter. This is purely cosmetic and short of gluing it to the bottom of the new shift ****, anyone have any fixes.

Tried search function but its usually very poorly correlated with what you are actually looking for.

Simple fix is attaching a zip tie to the shifter under the boot, when you put the centre console/boot back over the shifter the zip tie will stop it from sliding down.
