99 civic ex with hx motor (and make faster :-) need swap info
Caution run on sentences and bad grammar
OK so here the deal after hours of searching it seems that many different things come out with this swap setup and I may NOT understand all of them..
Any who ex motor blew had a hx that was going to scrap so I stole the motor ecu and wiring and trans.. Also have 2 other y8 intakes (p2p and p2k) as well as the stock hx (p2j), ex tranny is good, stock ecu is good.
so my basic plans was ex tranny and and just going for one of the y8 manifolds but I don't know if this will work with the stock ex ecu or what wiring harness to use or if i shold just throw the slow *** hx in and call it a day. any info on this subject would be great
Also I don't want to spend **** loads due to the jdm type R that I'm building

I only read the last sentence.
Keep the car as it currently stands and finish the jdm type that you are building and swap it in.

Ok broke person who-has a-build-that-can't-progress-without-w/o-money.
You cannot swap an hx motor and attempt to use a p2p ecu, plain and simple. Someone else tried to do it and so far that member has not reported back whether it worked or not.

have run them on both p2p and p2e. a/t version of hx ran a 4 wire, have also converted 5 wire harness to 4. all very possible.
Or should I just run the hx harness and convert?
And how did the ex ecu work with the lean burn problems?

lol you're not going faster. forget lean burn on that ecu, not happening. itll run, drive, and do it reasonably well. that's it.
Member for 4 years. Starts thread making excuses right off the bat. Clearly hasn't searched. Clearly hasn't put forth a modicum of effort. Can't give specific details. Expects us to give him a magical solve-all answer.

Yup member for 4yrs and almost never use hondatech mostly due to retards and ********... As for not searching I have but the hx d16y5 is the redheaded step child of Honda motors even tho being a rocker head it theoretically could out perform any d series head.. All things a smart *** like you should know right? And as for excuses I like most peeps don't make 200+k a year and if I did I would probably be driving something better then a ek maybe a nsx or something.. But I don't so I can only afford one motor build and as I said earlier I currently building a type r motor so why waste money on this d series that probably won't be in the car longer then 3 months.. YOU SIR IS WHATS WRONG WITH HONDATECH

So he blames the forum members for him asking a stupid question, even though he's been here for over 4 yrs. K, GL in life.
Running an engine on an ecu that wasn't programmed for it is the caution zone as it is, but when you ask to make it faster (for a member whose been here for over 4 yrs) just makes you a dumbass for not searching. Being vague on the question, not stating how you want to accomplish that and what your power goals are and what its for must make you feel like a man that doesn't need to explain himself. So if thats the case take your hx motor and swap it in and do what you need to make it fast.

$200k+ household chiming in, OP has never been to GDD.
Isn't the HX OBD2A for all 4 years and if so would that give OP and issue with his 99 chasis?
