Default B18C1 Distributor problems

I have a b18c1 in a 90 crx hf, I am staying obd0 with a pr3 ecu. It is throwing a cylinder position sensor code. I was told about having to rewire a few things so it works? Just seeing if anyone else has had to do this?

Its because your ecu is meant to run an obd0 b16. It makes so much more sense to run obd1. To each their own though.

Would it run right if I go to obd1?

Yes, the b18c uses a very different map from a b16a. Not only that, the b18c has secondary butterflies that's open. If you don't have the proper ecu they won't open. Use a p72 and convert obd0 to obd1. It's so easy. If you can't find a p72, You just need to get an obd1 ecu socketed and converted to run vtec. Then you'll need a b18c basemap chip.

The reason it's throwing it is because the OBD0 ECU is only compatible with an OBD0 distributor due to the number of teeth on the injector trigger wheel being different. But as said above it still doesn't have the same maps as the OBD1 P72 or a chipped OBD1 ECU with a P72 base map.

Do you happen to be converting from a DPFI engine?
If so, the TPS rotates in the opposite direction on the DPFI motor so the wires need to be swapped if you haven't done that already.
