Icon4 HELP: Can't solve cracking noise

Hey guys,

I have a 2007 Civic Ex and it makes a cracking noise when the car is fully turned left and then giving it gas (Like you're turning out of parking lot). Its coming from the right (passenger) side

It sounds like an axle that needs replacing, so I went and replaced it but the noise is still there

Steering is also shakey FYI at highway speeds.

Anyone know what this might be? Or what should I replace next?

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Cheers.

I would probably get it inspected before changing more parts for no reason as it will just cost you more to probably repair the issue.

Have you changed any of the suspension components?

No I haven't. Going to try and get diagnostics done after the tire change season slows down.

Wild guess here, but maybe upper strut mount. It has bearings in it, they could be bad. The bushing could also be bad, leading to the metal of the strut mount hitting the metal of the car.

I literally just had the same problem a couple days ago. I had it inspected and it was the CV boots. I went ahead and got both of them replaced because if one is going to do it, the other one is liable to follow. Just make sure that when they get done, the Mechanic properly realigned your alignment. If it's a decent mechanic, they won't charge you for the realignment. One Mechanic that I went to tried to charge me for alignment and I just walked away because I just didn't think it should be a problem if it was already perfectly aligned before. But I paid about $240 after tax to get both of them done by my mechanic. If they charge you alignment, it will get close to $300 as most two wheel alignments are 30-40
