Default Car wont stay on d16z6 help pls

Hey guys i got a fresh rebuilt z6 in my 94 eg obd1 and i got it to turn on but doesn't stay running only way it stays on is if i keep my foot on the gas revving to at least 1k or so. I checked spark and fuel and compression all good. Also when i took the plugs out they were a little wet and smelled like gas. Im stressing over the fact its a new motor and i don't want to mess it up
Any help will do guys thanks !

Replace the coolant temp sensor located just below and in front of the distributor. It's failed and the ECU thinks the engine is always cold and is always dumping fuel. Hence the plugs are wet and the engine will only start when it's cold. When the engine is warm the ECU gives it too much fuel to start and it won't start.

My 93 del sol si had the same problem a month ago. I guess these sensors only last 22 years. LOL

Note: This didn't cause a cel either. Made it harder to diagnose.

i think that you got your tps sensor plug switched with the iacv plug thats under it
it happens alot because the same plug can be plugged in to both tps sensor and the iacv sensor and also both reach so its easy to get them switched around

just something that you could try without spending money
maybe it will work and if not then just switch them back

Could be a bad coil but in my case I had changed the coil, the igniter, distributor cap, rotor, plugs and swapped the FPR with another that I had. I checked timing, cleaned IACV, like I said it was a tough.

The coolant temp sensor made it a new car. Started instantly hot or cold engine . Throttle response was like a new car, the car actually pulled from a traffic light. Turning the A/C on and off the engine and idle instantly adjusted smoothly.

It was like a brand new car after running like crap over the past 6 months to a year.

Yeah I've heard of this happening i will get a new one and see if that works.
Also clean the IVAC and as the getting the connecters switched up i have them fine.
