Default wont start

Hello guys, im new to the honda world, so i just picked up a decent 97 civic coupe, d16y7, 5spd, i love the car, great on gas, normal mods, exhaust, coil overs, intake, header.. now when i drive the car it runs great, fires right up but it acts like when the car is warm it wont fire, juat turns over an over, i checked if i was getting spark and i am.. now i have read that the efi relay or main relay would cause my symptoms... like i said im new to the honda world, om used to carbed v8s so take it easy on me lol... thanks in advance for any help guys an gals

Yes, could be the main relay. check to see if you hear the fuel pump prime next time this happens.

Default new ecu but small problem

so i swapped out the p2p that the last owner had in the car, now my motor is a D16y7 so i picked up a p2e which the car should of had in the first place. car runs but idles low like a hair up from 0 so say 2-400 rpm an its not surging its smooth.. does the new ecu need to learn the new fuel curves? like do i need to reset the ecu

No, but you need to adjust your base idle.

The ECU may need 30 minutes or so of driving to learn the proper idle. However, are any CEL codes thrown?

Pull the codes first.

The relearn is just to drive the car.

i pulled the codes, 14,41,65.. iirc 2 are for the o2 sensors the other is for my iac valve?? i disnt have that code running the p2p ecu... also im running a y8 intake manifold, would it be because im running the y8 throttle body still??? bought the car this way so its all new to me

NotARaCist already explained this would be an issue for you in your other thread and I remember personally talking with you about it via pm when we were talking about the ecu. You have basically two options, take NARCs advice or convert the entire intake manifold setup to the Y7 setup. NARCs method is going to be cheaper and easier.

Yes I still have the one we spoke about before but this is the tech forum so it's bad practice to be talking about buying and selling parts in here. That said, you should still have the pms we exchanged saved in your inbox if you still need one.

Now, about the technical aspect of your problem. If you didn't have an iacv code with the P2P ECU the previous owner must have done the wiring conversion for a two wire iacv. So in order to use the y7 iacv you'll have to reverse the wiring mod at the plug and the ECU. Hopefully for your sake the previous owner just depinned the extra wire (orange) and left it dangling but there's a good chance it was just cut and you'll have to extend from the cut sections to the pins or replace the wire entirely. I would suggest you take a look at the iacv plug and the ecu wiring and see if you can locate both ends of the orange wire.
