Fuel pump repair
I have a 1987 Honda civic hatchback si that was donated from my family to me for free but with the catch of a broken fuel pump. I wanted to know if it's possible to repair it without taking it to a mechanic and paying a leg for it if so, how. Thank you in advance!
Honda fuel pumps are not rebuildable to the best of my knowledge, the cases are crimped shut.
Order civic fuel pump with filter from ebay. remove rear seat bottom, remove fuel pump cover (4 phillips screws), remove hoses from tank lid, remove electrical connector, remove 6 nuts from tank lid (10mm socket). Lift assembly out (takes a little twist and finesse). Disconnect pump electrical plug, move hose clamp, pull pump and filter assembly from bracket.....now do it all the same in reverse. Should take less than an hour if you have never done it before. You tube videos will show you how to do it as well.
