Default Bad ECU but not, so hopefully this helps someone in the future.

Here is the story... pretty crazy lol. So put a test pipe in my car, had to take out old o2 sensor from header. That thing was rusted in there so it was stripping the threads when i took it out. o2 sensor out, but threads slightly stripped. So then i put the o2 sensor on my test pipe. Turns out it wasnt all the way in cause of the bad threads.

So today driving home from work, on the highway, nsx passes me , so just decided to downshift into fourth lol... please dont judge so i just passed him for fun..... then it turns for the worst...

RPMS climbing steadily in 4th gear... then i hear some clunks, then my engine loses power completely shutting off. CEL goes on.... im thinking .... pull over and i look underneath my o2 sensor the primary is hanging on the ground so i figure that is what caused the clunk.

So i look at the o2 sensor, the thing is messed up from dragging on the ground, so i just unplugged it and put it in the car... i knew that the car will still turn on without a o2 sensor.. but i go to crank and no start... SOLID CEL.

I tried few times to start the car... just cranks. Its a SOLID CEL so it was a bad ECU or something....

So here is the solution i found.. IT WAS THE MAIN RELAY when i turn on the car the thought of the main relay didnt pass my mind. But it wasnt the RELAY it was the 15A fuse underneath the hood.

The reason this happened is when the primary o2 sensor fell out of the test pipe. My ecu thought something went REALLY REALLY wrong with the CATALYTIC converter so it blew the 15A main relay fuse turning off my car completely. But thank god for cell phones and now that i think of it, its a pretty clever fail safe to kill the fuse so the ecu thought you could still save the cat.

And 1 more thing... lol my o2 sensor is unplugged.. but i only get a CODE 10. not a code 1??? Fml anyone know why this could happen

Are you sure you pulled the obd1 code #10 ? #10 is IAT sensor, maybe you read it wrong from the flashes and it is really code #1 from one solid blink..

Why didn't you just buy another o2 sensor?

the o2 sensor took a dive and got damage while in flight, so yes it sent a weird signal that made the ecu think something that wasn't part of protocol.
