tin foil around o2 sensor?
who has tried this with their test pipe? Does it actually work and how long will it last? Do you just take out the o2 sensor, plug up the o2 bung, wrap the sensor in tin foil, and then tape it somewhere else?
I've heard of this working to remove the secondary o2 sensor and not throw the code. A few of my friends who installed this with a DC Header has gotten it to work.
have they had any problems with it at all? How does the tin foil work and won't it be bad if the sensor isn't reading anything?
hmm would you have to wrap the entire o2 sensor in the foil? as in.. including the tip of the sensor? so the incoming flow doesnt touch the tip when it is screwed back in the bung.
should i even screw it back into the bung or just ziptie it somewhere under the car? If i'm not using the bung what could i use to plug it up since there wouldn't be a sensor in there?
dude i dont even know haha. i wanted to install my test pipe. but i didnt want to have a CEL.. but i was told, just like you, to wrap the sucker up with tin foil.... my guess is to plug it back into the bung... i mean on my test pipe there is a bung for the o2 sensor.... assuming that, thats what it is used for.

yea well i heard a bunch of other people say they didn't put it in the bung and just ziptied it somewhere. I am wondering what i should plug the bung up with though.
