Crome gold map won't start. Help
So I have a regular map that i copied over the fuel settings into a new gold map and then expanded the table for more columns. The fuel Cc rating was set in Gold map as 1083cc as i'm running a ID1000 inj.
The car wouldn't even start, just a little backfire. But the fuel tables look similar. Am i missing out something?
I see some options in Gold like fuel cranking trim and so forth.
Any ideas?

It's a lot harder to tune a gold rom from scratch.
You need to play with it yourself and figure it out, most likely.

what do you think a backfire is telling you?
Is this a fresh build? was it running before? did you work on the engine prior to this? is there anything you did prior to using the software that could possibly caused a problem making you think its the tune?

I have two bins I've prepared, I copied the working settings from one bin to the crome gold bins, ensuring the load cells and rpm lines up for fuel and timing. But it just doesn't start on the gold bin, it idles reasonably on the regular crome bin.

I really don't know, it's a real backfire, not an afterfire.
Is this a fresh build?
Yes,
was it running before?
Yes. I thought how i answered would indicate this.

No. I simply load one map, it started idled and rev. Loaded the other GOLD map and it does nothing.

I don't use crome and have not in a long time because crome is crome but just because you made all the numbers the same, doesn't mean anything. It requires tuning.
for instance, it backfired. that means you are getting fuel but what is a back fire? Do you think it would backfire with too little fuel for it to start? IMO, no. but I am not there. the back fire tells me that you are drowning the engine with fuel but that's just an interpretation of what I am reading and past experience. doesn't mean its your problem.
For ***** and giggles, start pulling fuel out using the MAIN fuel multiplier and see what happens.

I have always loved Neptune. But its really a matter of what you like.
Neptune is free to download and poke around but you have to buy the hardware to make it work. there are also help files with videos and such to walk you through it.

A backfire can happen from too much or too little fuel. A true backfire (in the exhaust) is usually timing related or from some form of cross-firing. It can be from fuel as well, but usually this will happen while driving and not sitting still. Too much fuel at idle will usually just stall the engine. If it's coming from the intake then it could be a fuel issue or timing.
So have you verified mechanical timing? Have you set base timing yet? Set and verify these first before proceeding if you haven't. You need to set injector dead times as well, not just change the global modifier. CROME Gold bins definitely take more initial work than a P30 basemap. I have experienced the same issue as you as well...

Injector offsets are slightly different, and like they said, same numbers don't mean same effect. Try making larger changes, and weigh the effect.
Are you using an ostrich? You may want to give it a reset as well, download the util from moates.
I too have been in this boat, got to work it out by experimenting.

I'm not sure why there is an alternate mirror to my manual on a russian site, but the actual link is in my signature. for the purposes of avoiding potential viruses, I would recommend using that instead. updated the previous post.
