High oil pressure issue
Hey so I have a 90 crx with a boosted ZC, I figured my best bet might be to ask here since it's similar to the D16. Let me know if this is the wrong section to post in..
I just bought the car recently and it ran perfect, no leaks and good oil pressure. I just changed the oil to Rotella T6 5W40. I was recommended this by many people. It significantly upped my oil pressure while cold. Earlier it would drive around 80 psi cold, now it spikes past 110 if I drive it at all at low rpm. So now I just let it idle till it warms up and it does fine. I seem to have blown out my front main seal already, it started a decent leak. So is this normal to have this high of pressure when cold with thicker oil? Or is my oil relief valve not working? Thanks for any input

Well it was dark black and needed to be changed, and who knows what viscosity was of the old oil. So I figured going with the Rotella was a good bet. I haven't changed the main seal yet. I read that a oil relief valve could cause similar issues. So I want to look a bit more into everything before changing it.
